Chapter one: Lament.

I open my eyes, my slumber disturbed by the gentle nudging in my ribs.
"Gardevoir?"
"Good morning, honey."
"Mornin' to you too."
I push myself up into a sitting position and, yawning lazily, stretch. Gardevoir sits down beside me and gazes around at our surroundings. I follow her gaze, examining the surrounding trees. Here in the LighDark region, which we moved to five months ago, the POKéMON are...different.
As an explanation, the strangely coloured pokemon, like the orange Pikachu's for example, are just as common as the normal coloured POKéMON. I kiss Gardevoir on the cheek before standing up, stretching again. Ow! Cramp! I stretch again, ridding myself of the pain, before walking over to one of the trees. I touch its smooth yet jagged bark and smell the air. Ah, I've never known cleaner.

Suddenly, to my surprise, the tree just dissapears into a kind of white fog. The fog spreads fast around my feet and wraps itself around Gardevoir! I try to rush to her side, but something is holding me in place.
"Gardevoir! Gardevoir!"
She doesn't respond, she just continues to hum and gaze at the surroundings, completely ignorant of my presence nor the fog's. Then, she just dissapears...with a slight pop. I fall to my knees, having somehow regained control of my body, and worry. What if she's gone forever? No, no, no. I can't think that way. Maybe i'm still dreaming? I bloody well hope so, because I can see some threatening lights over the horizon. I climb to my knees as the lights come closer. I peer through the fog and notice that the lights are coming from a bunch of gallades holding torches. Okay, that's not at all weird. They seem to be communicating in some sort of language. And not just the normal 'name-speech', but an actual language. Plucking up my courage, I stride towards them, head held high. I stop in front of them and they stare at me in disbelief. I stare back, half-expecting them to cry for some reason.
"You!"
Hey, they know English.
"You! Who are you?! How are you still alive when Humans went extinct four hundred years ago?!"
"Y-You WHAT?!

I stare at the Gallades in disbelief, they can't be serious...can they?
"hey, Human...could you not stare please? it's...creepy."
"Have you seen a Gardevoir around here?"
"A Gardevoir? Sure! We've seen hundreds of them going around!"
"Oh, great."
"Why?"
"I was looking for my Gardevoir, we were on a little trip."
They shrug, in unision.
"Sorry mate, We didn't see anyone asking if anyone's seen a Human. There haven't been any of you Humans around since Light gained an empire, for some reason, you Humans couldn't survive the increased rays."
The Gallade in front suddenly grabs me by the shoulder, looking surprised.
"Hey! What's happening?! You're...dissapearing!"
I glance down at myself and gasp. It's true. I glance back at the Gallade as I dissapear completely. I open my eyes, and find I'm standing next to the tree. I spin around, Gardevoir's there as well.
"Phew!"
